In recent years, there has been a great development in the market for traditional quality products, in particular meats of indigenous breeds, which makes them an important source of income and economic development for the Territory. Although already well known at the national and even international level, the meat of our Region still has growth potential.
And this is boosted from this network of producers. Through cooperation between small producers and joint actions in the field of disposal, as well as sharing experiences, small producers can increase their competitiveness through economies of scale.
Meats of indigenous breeds are related to the designations Protected Designation of Origin (DOP) and Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) that guarantee their origin and quality. These species have unique organoleptic characteristics that make them a "meat of excellence".
